Aurora
Aurora Aksnes, born June 15th, 1995 in Stavanger and known professionally as Aurora often stylized in uppercase in the form of AURORA is a Norwegian singer and songwriter. Her debut E.P. Running with the Wolves was released by the label Decca Records in May 2015 getting great reviews from bloggers as well as the press. Half the World Away - by the Oasis to accompany John Lewis' Christmas ad and Nature Boy - by Nat King Cole have already been two notable covers that the singer has created. Katy Perry posted a video that she supported Runaway. The endorsement earned her some attention. It was her birthday. Aurora Aksnes earliest musical memory is that of finding an attic piano and being fascinated by the sounds it would create. Jan Oystein Aksnes and May-Britt Aksnes encouraged Aurora to study music, not as an income or as a pastime and as a way to improve. The singer began to write songs of her own. Her influences include renowned writers Leonard Cohen and Bob Dylan and her love of Bjork's style. When her mother informed her that her music could not only help her gain fame, and also inspire others to see their value in the world and realize how they can benefit from them, she decided to begin playing in front of the public. She was suggested by her mother to sing her songs in public to help people realize the importance of their work and how they impact the world. The family did not know until the age of fourteen. Aurora's success was never her goal. According to her, she likes to write songs. For her, music is the most efficient way to express anything.
